DENTAL ROBOTICS

Dentistry employs a few manual robotic systems that are controlled manually via the computer's control interface. Manual drills can be safer and more accurate than traditional drills. Although in dentistry progress toward autonomous robots in dental implants is being made, the few promising robotic systems are not yet available to dentists. Before robots become commonplace in dentistry, the high acquisition cost and inherent complexity of robotic hardware and methods must be overcome. They are used in prosthodontics procedures such as dental implants, dental surgery, fixed prosthesis, teeth whitening
